Graphics and Architecture

Concept and design of glass railings, surrounding a succession of four atria – each of which is three stories high – in the new surgical building at the University Hospital in Ulm.

Leitmotif for the design of the railings is the tree. The visual results are shapes, lines and dots, which grow upwards from floor to floor like trunks, branches and leaves. The graphics are printed on adhesive foil mounted between the sheets of laminated glass.
